I think this might be the back of ‘Tommy Ball’s’ cottage, Street End Lane, as seen from The Grove footpath?
Yes it is. All those buildings were used to raise the groundlevel of the lawn in the gardens either side of the footpath. Consequently the garden is even more incredibly stony than it was. It’s present name ‘Stoney Batch’ is singularly appropriate.
My grandfather Aurther Ball was known as Tommy Ball,is this right?
