Was this the garage where Lyons and Young kept their cattle trucks, the
    old Blagdon Co-op being opposite?

Yes the garage was opposite the old Co-op, now a private house called Highfield. In the photo it was called Central Garage, started by the Harris brothers who also re-charged accumulators and operated a hire car service. Later Ted Marsh took it over, expanding to a haulage business, also using the Tithe Barn in Station Road for lorries. I think the late John Gallop said the business was then taken over by Lyons and Young, one handling haulage & the other cattle?? Search on High Street and there’s some comments from Richard Young. Can you remember any more about the garage?

Lyons and Young were meat deliverers as seen in photo from an entry last year. Relation to the Ball Family. Blagdons butcher shop run by Arthur Ball known as Tommy Ball.
