The house used to be called ‘Sunnyside’ and was occupied by HJ ‘Harry’ Houlding and family.Harry had served in the Royal Navy and later became a village postman. He retired from the Post Office in 1938 after 30 years service and was presented with a gold watch and wallet of notes at the Village Club. He also received an Imperial Service medal.
