Does anyone know if these cottages were ‘waterworks cottages,?
My grandfather Harry Howe worked for the waterworks and lived with his wife Lily (nee Greenslade) and their 4 children in a waterworks cottage.
    Probably around 1930ish.
From here, I think I’m right in saying, they moved to Glensheen on the High street.

No, the Waterworks cottages are on the other side of the road. The cottages in this photo were Airey houses, built by the local authority and first occupied about 1948. The area was called Boyd’s Orchard, later renamed Garston Lane with these houses called Garston Cottages.
