Nordrach-on-Mendip Sanatorium, with patients relaxing in the grounds?
If correct, well spotted, Sheila. I saw Nordracht listed for sale at a million & a half a couple of years ago. Wonder if anyone bought it?..would make a good conference centre. My Dad worked in Nordracht during WW2 as a general handyman/dogsbody, even assisting the nurses when required. Dad was “reserved occupation”, being a farmer. He owned Holt Farm of Yeo Valley fame. He also owned Diplands, a stable block opposite Holt Farm which has been developed into rather smart homes. If you know Rosemary Hodges, of Wrington, my sister, she will tell you all the relevant history thereof. Andrew Addicott was my cousin; his mother Florence being my Dad’s youngest sister.
Hi Robert, did your dad know my dad Jim Lewis?
