Back during a spell of snowy weather like that in this photograph, I have memories of walking over to the Post Office at Compton Martin and actually standing in a queue outside as the shop was full of customers. When eventually we got into the shop, the shopkeeper with his very dry sense of humour informed that the ‘Asda’ bus was not running today!! He did a roaring trade that day but doubted very much if he would be able to rely their custom on a regular basis.
