Things to think about
• Is the image the right way round?
• Is it duplicated in the archive?
• When was the image taken?
• Why was it taken?
• Who took it?
• Where is it?
• What does it show?
• Can you identify the people in it?
• Any observations about the image
• Anecdotes inspired by the images

A www.blagdon.org project |
This is the house that my mother grew up in! She lived here until she married my father in 1940.Her father worked for the waterworks.Sadly she died in 1969 aged just 47. My sisters and I go often to spend time in the village.
how amazing to see this picture! i’m barbara’s sister. perhaps if anyone knows a little of the history of glenshean, or the family who lived there back in pre-war times, you might let us know? my mother’s life was very difficult, as her mother died when she was 10years old. we like to think she had a happy childhood in blagdon, but it would be so good to know more. her mother’s maiden name was greenslade.
